Arbor Works is seeking to add a Manual Transmission Log Truck Driver to our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for safely transporting logs, debris, and related freight. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Duties
- Load and unload material using a log truck grapple, MUST have grapple truck experience
- Plan and follow optimized route driving schedules to meet deadlines while adhering to safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours and delivery documentation for compliance purposes.
- Follow all federal, state, and local transportation laws and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Occasionally feeding a Chipper with a log truck Grapple
- Occasional equipment operation for Mini-Excavator if needed
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL B) is required, but a valid commercial drivers license (CDL A) is preferred.
- Proven experience in truck driving, especially running a log grapple
- Proficiency in manual transmission vehicles, especially an 18 speed transmission is a MUST
- Experience with route driving and load & unload procedures in various settings.
- Ability to perform vehicle inspections diligently before and after trips.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and transportation of heavy loads.
- Excellent communication skills are required
- Able to work independently, without direct supervision
- Must be able to work overtime if needed
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
