Responsibilities
- Deliver lesson plans provided by the regular teacher or adapt to spontaneous instructional needs with confidence and creativity
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment
- Support students’ individual needs, including those with disabilities or developmental challenges, through personalized assistance and encouragement
- Organize classroom activities that promote active participation, literacy development, creative writing, and hands-on learning experiences
- Implement curriculum guidelines across subjects such as math, early childhood education, and special education to ensure educational objectives are met
- Communicate clearly with students, staff, and parents about classroom activities and student progress when appropriate
- Maintain organized classroom environments conducive to learning and ensure all safety protocols are followed
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and curriculum implementation across various subjects including math and literacy education
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities is advantageous
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and behavior management techniques to foster positive student interactions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt instructional methods for diverse learners
- Background in early childhood education or Montessori methods is a plus
- Ability to proofread and assist with tutoring or creative writing activities as needed
- Proven ability to mentor students and support their social-emotional growth
