McAfee Safety Analysis, Inc. (MSA) is seeking an experienced Senior ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Consultant / Lead Auditor to support environmental management system consulting, auditing, training, and continuous improvement activities for an anticipated project.
This is a project-based/consultant position contingent upon contract award. The selected candidate is expected to be available to support the project upon contract award and commencement.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting established ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems, conducting internal audits, developing EMS documentation, training personnel, and advising organizations on environmental management system effectiveness and conformance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess existing Environmental Management System (EMS) documents, processes, and activities for conformance with ISO 14001:2015 requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve EMS effectiveness, implementation, and continual improvement.
- Develop, revise, and maintain EMS policies, procedures, programs, and supporting documentation.
- Plan and conduct ISO 14001 internal audits and provide findings and recommendations.
- Provide technical guidance on environmental compliance, EMS best practices, and integration of environmental management and sustainability initiatives.
- Develop and deliver ISO 14001 and EMS training for employees, management, and leadership.
- Train and mentor personnel to perform as EMS internal auditors and/or lead internal auditors.
- Develop online or web-based EMS training materials and modules.
- Facilitate EMS workshops and leadership engagement sessions.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and recommendations to senior and executive leadership.
- Support environmental compliance assessments, technical reporting, and related environmental management activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated professional experience with ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems.
- Strong experience conducting ISO 14001/EMS internal audits.
- Experience implementing, maintaining, assessing, or improving an established EMS program.
- Experience developing ISO 14001 procedures, documentation, audit programs, and corrective-action processes.
- Experience training personnel in EMS fundamentals, ISO 14001 requirements, and internal auditing.
- Experience serving as an ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor strongly preferred.
- Experience developing and delivering employee and leadership training.
- Experience supporting large, complex, or multi-site organizations preferred.
- Municipal, government, public-sector, airport, or similar organizational experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, technical writing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical staff and senior leadership.
Certifications
ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, Internal Auditor, or equivalent EMS training/certification is strongly preferred.
Relevant environmental, EHS, sustainability, or auditing credentials are also desirable.
