Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities. As a vital member of our caregiving team, you will help enhance the quality of life for clients by delivering personalized, respectful, and attentive care. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and hygiene.
- Monitor patient observation and report any changes in condition promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with mobility using proper patient transfer methods and equipment such as Hoyer lifts or gait belts.
- Administer medications accurately following medical documentation protocols and home healthcare regulations.
- Record vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to track health status.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, laundry, light cleaning, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document care activities while maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or in geriatrics and hospice care settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, catheter care, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and medical documentation practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and coordination with healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of home health care assistance regulations and best practices for patient safety and confidentiality.
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), Basic Life Support (BLS), and other relevant training preferred.
