Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. This position plays a crucial role in our restaurant's kitchen, contributing to meal preparation, menu planning, and ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, and measuring spices.
- Cook menu items according to established recipes and standards to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
- Monitor food inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines in the kitchen to maintain a safe working environment.
- Keep kitchen, dishes, pots and pans clean when needed.
Skills
- Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills, particularly in fine dining or dietary departments.
- Familiarity with meal preparation processes, including menu planning and dietary aide responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy service periods.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
