Pacific Rim, a group of affiliated companies, is searching for a Civil Engineer who is responsible for designing, building, maintaining infrastructure projects and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required specifications. We are looking for individuals who has great ability to solve complex problems and make data driven decisions, attention to details in design and construction to ensure safety and compliance, has great communication, project management skills and great attitude with leadership skills in collaboration with other engineers, architects, and construction workers. Job Summary
As Civil Engineer, you will:
- Prepare schedule, pre-planning and resource forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project.
- Prepare and implement project plans.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial forecasts which tie-in to project schedules.
- Ensure projects are completed according to project plans.
- Design construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings and models utilizing computer software.
- Research and provide estimates for projects. Determines projects costs by calculating labor, material and related costs. Site inspections and project assessments.
- Prepare feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, assembling data.
- Prepare engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules.
- Confirm adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress, inspecting construction site, verifying calculations and placements.
- Review government regulations and ordinances.
- Monitor and optimize safety procedures, production processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Make recommendations or present alternative solutions to problems.
- Confidently liaise with clients and other professional subcontractors.
- Handle project management duties (e.g. managing budgets, resources, and deadlines; acquiring and compiling quotes, etc.).
Skills, Qualification, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, information in civil engineering technology
- Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications, a plus
- Must have excellent math skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Civil Engineering field
- Minimum 2 years. Experience in management
- Ability to work in high-pressure, deadline driven environment
- Exceptional communication and reporting skills
- Solid working knowledge in all required software and programming languages
- Outstanding leaderships skills and ability to delegate responsibilities effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs., the role may involve occasional handling of equipment, materials, or documents.
