Foam Cutting Technician / Production Associate
Extreme Dock Equipment is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Foam Cutting Technician / Production Associate to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating vertical and tilting-head foam band saws to produce precision-cut foam components used in loading dock seals, shelters, and related products.
The ideal candidate has experience reading production drawings, interpreting dimensions, visualizing finished parts, and producing accurate cuts while maintaining high quality standards. When not operating the saws, the employee will assist with various manufacturing and assembly activities throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate vertical and tilting-head foam band saws safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret production drawings, dimensions, templates, and work orders.
- Set up and adjust cutting angles for bevel, miter, contour, and specialty foam cuts.
- Perform precise straight, angled, contour, and profile cuts according to specifications.
- Translate production drawings into accurately cut foam components.
- Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures, squares, templates, and other measuring tools.
- Maintain tight tolerances and ensure all parts meet quality standards.
- Inspect completed components for dimensional accuracy and workmanship.
- Move, position, and handle large foam blocks and finished components safely.
- Assist with assembly, gluing, packaging, material handling, and other production tasks when cutting operations are complete.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
- Meet daily production and quality goals.
QualificationsRequired
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings, dimensions, and specifications.
- Strong measuring, math, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure and understand fractions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to visualize finished parts from production drawings.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn manufacturing processes.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to safely operate production equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the workday.
Preferred
- Experience operating vertical and tilting-head band saws.
- Experience making bevel, miter, contour, and angled cuts from production drawings.
- Manufacturing, fabrication, woodworking, construction, upholstery, foam fabrication, CNC, or industrial production experience.
- Forklift experience or willingness to be trained.
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
