A Pharmacy Technician assists licensed pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications, managing inventory, and providing patient customer service. They are responsible for preparing and labeling prescriptions, maintaining accurate patient records, and processing health insurance claims, all while working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Duties include:
- Provide excellent customer service to all patients and effectively communicate with local prescribers to facilitate patient care.
- Fill prescriptions and dispense prescriptions to patients
- Medication ordering and inventory management skills.
- Work as intermediary between insurances and patients to deliver effective patient centric solutions.
- Responsible for managing all outdated, expired and damaged medication processes.
- Be knowledgeable about immunization schedules and be able to process all immunization related paperwork.
- Transfer prescriptions between pharmacies and maintain a professional rapport with local colleagues.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform visual inspections, use fine motor skills, and occasionally lift light-to-moderate weights.
- Frequently lift 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
