Book N Gather is building a next-generation hospitality platform that combines vacation rental management with the acquisition and operation of boutique hotels across Southwest Michigan. We manage high-performing properties, and we don't settle for average.
We're a team that hustles with heart, plays to win, and leads with integrity. Our core values say it all:
- Make it Fun!
- Get Stuff Done!
- Do the Right Thing!
- We Compete to Win!
We're growing fast, and we're building the team that scales with us. Every person we hire matters, every role has a future, and the right person won't stay in the same seat forever.
The Role
We're hiring a full-time Service Technician to be the boots-on-the-ground problem solver across our vacation rental and boutique hotel portfolio from South Haven to New Buffalo. This isn't a sit-back-and-wait-for-a-ticket role. It's hands-on, high-paced, and mission-critical.
Some calls come in early. Some come in late. You're the one we count on to protect the guest experience and keep our properties in top shape. You report directly to the Operations Manager and work closely with the broader ops team.
What You'll Do
- Complete maintenance tickets through our digital task management system
- Handle guest issues fast — leaky toilets, appliance swaps, door locks, you name it
- Perform general repairs: drawers, light fixtures, fridge handles, face boards, furniture assembly
- Manage minor plumbing, light electrical, basic carpentry, and painting tasks
- Replace and install items like Ring cameras, furnace filters, batteries, and light bulbs
- Conduct pre-arrival property walkthroughs and identify issues before guests do
- Keep exterior areas tidy — blow patios, remove cobwebs, light clean-ups
- Assemble, install, or swap out furniture, fixtures, and appliances as needed
- Communicate completions and open issues with the Operations Manager clearly and quickly
- Represent Book N Gather professionally in every guest and owner interaction
You'd Be a Great Fit If You...
- Have 1-2+ years of hands-on experience in general property maintenance or similar work
- Know your way around a tool bag and show up with the basics — drill, smartphone, and a problem-solving mindset
- Can lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work on your feet all day
- Thrive working independently and managing shifting priorities across multiple properties
- Have reliable personal transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean record
- Bring a hospitable, professional attitude — guests and owners will see you in action
- Can flex with the needs of the business, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts
- Are comfortable using mobile apps or software to log work and stay connected with the team
What You Get
- $25 - $30 per hour based on experience
- $100 per week vehicle and fuel stipend
- A growing company with serious runway — vacation rentals and boutique hotels
- Autonomy in your role with team support when you need it
- A clear path to grow as the portfolio expands
- A work culture that's upbeat, real, and built on trust
