Job Overview:
Banton Construction seeks to hire an Electrical Project Engineer to join our expanding electrical division. We are looking for a candidate with a strong desire to establish a long-term career and expand their skillset while we provide mentoring opportunities.
The ideal candidate will work out of our main office in North Haven, CT, with occasional commutes to various job sites. While this role focuses on our electrical division, a baseline knowledge of commercial construction is preferred but not required. Experience with railroad jobs, public work, DOT projects, electrical substations, and EV charging stations is highly preferred but not required.
Please note: This is a highly technical and administrative role with a heavy emphasis on computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, Adobe, Procore, and Writing Letters).
Compensation & Schedule
- Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000 (Negotiable based on prior experience)
- Work Week: 50-hour work week (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Location: 100% in-person role at the North Haven main office
Preferred Qualifications (Beneficial but Not Required)
- OSHA 10 safety certification.
- An active electrical license (E-2, E-1, or similar). (Preferred, not required)
- Prior experience with railroad, public work, DOT, substation, or EV charging station projects.

Key Responsibilities
The Electrical Project Engineer is expected to take on any and all tasks in their quest to learn all that they can about electrical project management and the construction industry.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the activities of electrical projects to ensure cost, schedule, document control, and quality standards are met.
- Assisting with submittals, RFI tracking, material procurement, and change order management specific to electrical systems.
- Supporting project documentation for specialized infrastructure, including public works, EV charging infrastructure, and substation components.
- Maintaining strict compliance with project documents, specifications, and Banton’s Best Practices.
