About Us
The COOL Program Counseling Services, LLC is a DBHDD-approved NIOP Community Mental Health Organization providing School-Based Behavioral Health Services throughout Clayton County.
We are committed to supporting both students and clinicians:
- No home visits, ever. Unlike traditional NIOP and community-based programs, in-person sessions take place at school during the school day—no home visits required. If you're tired of navigating unpredictable home environments, safety concerns, and burdensome travel that comes with traditional community-based therapy, this role is built specifically to eliminate that. Virtual sessions may be available in the evenings or on weekends for students who need additional flexibility.
- We provide internship opportunities and supervision for those seeking licensure.
- We prioritize the professional development of our clinicians and maintain manageable caseloads that respect work/life balance.
- Our therapists are able to focus solely on providing sessions—they are not responsible for completing assessments, treatment plans, or authorizations.
- Clinicians are assigned to specific school sites, allowing you to build consistent, meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff—rather than juggling a scattered caseload across multiple unpredictable locations.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a School-Based Therapist to provide in-school individual therapy at a single assigned school. This is a part-time position requiring 1–2 days per week. Additional group facilitation opportunities may also be available and will be discussed further during the interview process.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual counseling sessions at your assigned school during school days.
- Complete BIRP note documentation within 48 hours of each session.
- Collaborate and coordinate with parents, school staff, and other stakeholders involved in the student's care.
- Participate in monthly supervision sessions with agency leadership.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a counseling or helping profession (e.g., Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field).
- Reliable transportation.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate school-based service hours.
- Experience working with youth and families preferred.
A Note on Caseloads
As with any new school assignment, caseloads typically start smaller and build over the first several weeks as referrals come in. We're transparent about this from the start and support new clinicians closely during this ramp-up period. Referral bonuses are available for clinicians who help grow their own caseload.
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time: 1–2 days per week (school hours), single assigned school site; occasional virtual evening/weekend sessions possible.
- Pay range: $25–$35/hr for unlicensed and associate licensed therapists; $45–$55/hr for fully licensed clinicians.
