InterStellar BBQ is a small batch barbecue restaurant in NW Austin/Cedar Park that is focused on high quality ingredients, creative sides, and fun desserts. We are a restaurant that values quality over quantity and we make the majority of all our food in house. We are a small crew that wants to work with someone who is excited about food and taking care of our customers.
We are currently looking for a part-time dishwasher. The shifts are Saturday and Sunday, 9:30am-5:30pm (could be a little earlier if we sell out earlier). Having experience as a dishwasher in a restaurant is preferred, but it is not required. We are happy to train anyone that has the right attitude and work ethic. Reliability, trustworthiness, punctuality and a can-do attitude are vitally important for this position. We want to work with people who value positive working relationships and care about the details in their work.
General job duties are as follows:
- Scraping, rinsing, washing, and sanitizing wares before and during service.
- Follow proper warewashing standards to maintain restaurant cleanliness including checking and refilling sinks, sani water, etc. and keeping floors dry on a regular basis throughout the shift.
- Putting away dishes on drying racks and bringing dishes that have dried back to their assigned areas in the kitchen.
- Maintaining a clean and organized dish area during your shift.
- Following the closing checklist to shut down the dish area and leave it clean for the next day.
- Being able to multitask and have time management skills during the shift
- Be able to lift heavy items up to 50 pounds.
- Good communication skills
- Being a team player in a small restaurant where team work is required

- MUST have reliable transportation to work
- Compensation: $14-16/hr plus tips, total $25-27/hr avg; Shift meal and daily cash tips.
