Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social development for toddlers through elementary school-age children
- Supervise children during scheduled activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on their child's progress and address any concerns or questions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in compliance with childcare regulations and best practices
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage cooperation and respectful interactions among children
- Ensure all staff and volunteers adhere to mandated reporting laws and safety protocols
- Assist with onboarding new team members by sharing best practices in childhood development, classroom management, and activity planning
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children of various ages, including infants, preschoolers, toddlers, and school-age kids
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education methods
- Proven ability to plan engaging activities tailored to different age groups and developmental stages
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly valued
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training preferred
- Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques
- Previous experience in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or youth programs teaching roles is advantageous
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
