Senior Field Service Engineer — Critical Power / UPS Systems
DFW Metro, based near Red Oak, TX (or Atlanta, GA and Ashburn, VA with up to 75% travel) | $108,000–$132,000 base | $1,000/month performance bonus | $500/month car allowance
The work
You'll work on site at colocation data centers, handling startup, commissioning, owner training, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on UPS systems. Most of our work is multi-unit data center startups and ongoing service for mission-critical facilities.
At this level you'd be the senior technical person on your jobs. That means owning the difficult troubleshooting calls, working directly with customer engineering teams, and training the junior techs who come out with you.
Travel
Your home market is DFW, but we're also active in Atlanta and Ashburn, VA, and our senior FSE will need to visit those sites periodically. For work outside DFW we pay a $200/day travel bonus plus a $68/day tax-free per diem on top of your base. We cover flights, rental cars, and hotels, and you keep all the airline miles, rental car points, and hotel points.
If you're based in the Atlanta metro or Northern Virginia, and you're willing to travel up to 75%, we'd love to hear from you.
On Toshiba
We're a Toshiba manufacturer's rep, so if you've worked on their equipment it's a real advantage and we'll weight it heavily. But experience on any UPS platform counts — Eaton, Vertiv, Schneider/APC, Liebert, Powersmiths. We'll pay for your Toshiba training and certification. We've done it before and it's not a long ramp for someone who already knows UPS.
About the pay band
The band above is what we've budgeted, and it's honest. For candidates whose experience is clearly above what we've described and you think it's low for what you bring, apply anyway and tell us what you're looking for. We've gone above the band for the right person and we'd rather have the conversation than lose a good technician over a number on a job posting.
If you've got less than 10 years' experience, we would still consider you for a position at the company, just not for this "Senior FSE" role. Check out our other job postings as we'd love to hear from you!
What we're looking for
- 10+ years in electrical field service, maintenance, or installation, with significant hands-on UPS work — startup, commissioning, or service
- Ability to read schematics and one-lines and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults without supervision
- Experience working safely in and around high-voltage circuitry
- Located in the DFW region; legally authorized to work in the U.S.; HS diploma or GED
Preferred
- Toshiba UPS experience
- Battery systems and monitoring
- PLC familiarity
- Experience leading commissioning teams or mentoring junior technicians
- Data center or other mission-critical facility work
If you've spent your career on generators, switchgear, or industrial controls and moved into critical power — or came up through a Navy or Air Force electrical rating — we'd like to hear from you. Tell us what you've worked on.
Why us
We're 18 people but growing fast. Leadership knows every technician by name and knows what's happening on every job. Our senior people came up through the field, and if you're interested in a lead or service management track we'll be straight with you about what that path looks like as we're looking for leaders to grow with us. The work is technically serious — sophisticated customers, equipment that isn't allowed to fail, and a market in DFW that's still expanding.
