We are looking for an experienced and professional Lead Bartender to join the Team at Casa Gabriela in the La Mesa Village. Chef Gabriela Lopez brings her elevated Mexican cuisine to Downtown La Mesa, featuring an amazing bar program with dedicated clientele. The Lead Bartender will take ownership of the bar program, ensuring the highest quality beverages are served to our Guests while providing amazing hospitality.
Major responsibilities include: ensuring the bar is stocked and ready for all shifts, training the staff in technique and product knowledge, continuously providing new and innovative cocktails for our menu and special events, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, and cultivating a positive, team-oriented environment. We are looking for people who know how to make things happen and can represent Chef Gaby's high standards of hospitality.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years high-volume bartending experience
- Prior experience ordering bar products and working with vendors
- A genuine passion for the hospitality industry and ability to positively influence the workplace with an upbeat and inspirational demeanor.
- Train service staff to be more efficient, increase product knowledge, and take care of the Guest.
- Be hands on and lead by example. Make a difference every day.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills. Spanish language abilities a strong plus.
- This position is a working Bartending position with additional administrative duties. Bartending shifts will be part of the tip pool. Independent work in support of management's goals is required.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a fast-paced and high-volume restaurant setting. Because the environment includes a kitchen and customer seating area, the noise level may be disruptive at times. The position requires that you can stand, walk, lift, twist and bend for up to 8 hours a day and can lift to 50 lbs.
