Overview
The Engagement Specialist is responsible for reaching out to clients who are not attending scheduled service appointments to identify and address barriers to care. The goal of this position is to improve client participation in treatment services through empathetic outreach, effective communication, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams. The specialist provides support through engagement-focused interactions and service coordination.
Duties
· Experience re-engaging absentee clients to increase participation in services and progress toward treatment goals.
· Familiarity with services for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
· Experience making group presentations or engaging with diverse populations.
· Experience using electronic health record systems (e.g., Credible) to document interactions.
· Ability to work autonomously and manage a dynamic caseload effectively.
· Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary team for outreach or case coordination.
· At least 1 year of case management experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and show empathy.
· Solution-focused approach to identifying and resolving barriers to care.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, Criminology, or a related field OR Certified Peer Specialist with relevant experience.
· At least 2 years of experience working with individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
· Successful completion of background screening.
· Valid Florida driver’s license and a clean driving record
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
