Job Summary:
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Detention Officers. As a Detention Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety and security within our facility. This position requires strong skills and the ability to effectively manage conflicts in a challenging environment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain security and control within the facility
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure the safety of staff and inmates
- Monitor inmate activities and behavior, promptly addressing any potential issues
- Enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain order and discipline
- Conduct searches of inmates, cells, and common areas for contraband
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, taking appropriate action as necessary
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and inmate behavior
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure effective communication and teamwork
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong report writing skills to accurately document incidents and observations
- CPR and first aid certification (in house, will train)
- Ability to effectively manage conflicts and deescalate tense situations
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform job duties, including standing for long periods of time and restraining individuals if necessary, climbing stairs
Must be able to clear background check. This is a safety sensitive position. The current use of medical marijuana would prevent employment consideration. Random drug testing as covered under Oklahoma State Statute is a requirement of employment.
