Position Title: Lead Teacher
Position Summary:The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. The Lead Teacher plans and implements age-appropriate activities, supervises classroom staff, and supports each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement daily lesson plans and educational activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Supervise and engage children in learning through play and hands-on experiences.
- Monitor and document children’s progress and development.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s growth and daily activities.
- Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and center policies.
- Supervise assistant teachers and provide classroom leadership.
- Promote positive behavior and conflict-resolution skills among children.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident, and developmental records.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- CDA credential or equivalent experience accepted.
- Experience working with young children in a childcare or preschool setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass required background checks and clearances.
