Overview
Join our dynamic construction team as a Construction Painter and bring vibrant visions to life! We work four 10 hour days Monday-Thurs with occasional extra weekend work by choice. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces on residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces through skilled craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a passion for quality. Whether working on renovation sites or new construction projects, you'll play a vital part in enhancing the durability and aesthetic appeal of buildings while adhering to safety standards and project timelines. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills across multiple facets of construction painting and related trades.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and specialty coatings using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools.
- Perform surface repairs including drywall patching, trim carpentry, framing, masonry touch-ups, stucco application, and restoration work.
- Execute detailed tasks such as fixture installation, window and door trimming, masonry finishing, concrete finishing, welding (where applicable), and industrial painting.
- Maintain safety protocols on construction sites while managing multiple projects involving renovation or new builds.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, plasterers, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution and quality standards are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting with a solid understanding of construction site procedures.
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools essential for surface preparation and finishing work.
- Familiarity with color theory principles to achieve desired aesthetic effects.
- Experience with residential painting as well as commercial or industrial projects is highly desirable.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface area or material quantities.
- Hands-on experience with plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, restoration work, and fixture installation preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety standards on construction sites including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
