We are seeking a Student Support Specialist to assist students in their educational journeys. In this vital role, you will serve as a compassionate advocate, providing guidance and support tailored to students' diverse needs. Duties
- MAINTAINING A WELL-DEVELOPED SENSE OF HUMOR
- Provide support to students facing emotional or behavioral challenges
- Collaborate with educators, counselors, and families to develop individualized support plans that address students’ unique needs. Co-teach with content area teachers and special educators; collaborate with school clinicians.
- Assist with child protective services procedures when necessary, ensuring student safety and well-being
- Support students with special education requirements by implementing tailored strategies and accommodations
- Assist in developing student support plans activities that promote academic and social-emotional development
- Maintain detailed records of student interactions, interventions, and progress in compliance with privacy standards

Experience
- DEMONSTRATING A WELL-DEVELOPED SENSE OF HUMOR
- Prior experience working with children or in educational settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability in crisis management and crisis intervention techniques (we do not restraint students at the Mill School.
- Background in education or clinical work or related fields is advantageous
- Familiarity with special education processes and accommodations is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively across diverse cultural backgrounds
- Experience in conflict management and teaching strategies aimed at supporting student success

Pay: $52,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
