Job Description
This mentoring program's overnight house leader is dedicated to helping men ages 18‑25 develop their identity, relationships, and life plan. Through both residential and non‑residential mentoring, we equip students with spiritual growth, life skills, and accountability in a supportive community.
Role and Responsibilities
This job is an overnight position. The House Leader on duty shall remain on grounds and keep the company phone at all times to ensure the safety and security of Son Care Foundation's ranch. The House Leader is responsible for students' well-being and serves as the main point of contact from 10pm to 6am in case of emergencies.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and supportive environment.
- Carry the designated company phone and serve as the primary emergency contact overnight.
- Respond to emergencies involving students, the property, or visitors and notify staff and/or law enforcement when necessary.
- Conduct routine walk-through of the house and property.
- Help maintain the cleanliness, organization, and security of the students and house.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or property damage to the Mentoring Program Manager
- Communicate important information to the Mentoring Program Manager and/or other staff (Son Care Mentoring), during shift transitions.
- This position reports directly to the Mentoring Program Manager.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Relating to people ages 18-25 years old
- Coordinating/communicating with teams
- Discernment in how to wisely help young people
- Respond calmly and appropriately to students' concerns, conflicts, or emergencies.
- Able to navigate Google Drive, task management programs, and online databases
- Strong communication skills: both writing and verbal
- Strong organizational skills.
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Food Handlers Card
Additional Notes
- 3 - 4 nights per week required. 10 pm - 6 am
- Housing opportunity. Private room for rent on the property for $800/month (utilities included), laundry & dryer in unit, shared kitchen, shared bathroom, off-street parking
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
