We are seeking a responsible individual for full-time Custodian to maintain the facilities of First City Church and Alpharetta Christian Academy. Individual must be careful and thorough in working, cleaning, and maintaining the premises. Prior experience in a custodial position for a commercial facility is preferred. Additionally, the individual must have physical endurance to cover a large space that includes climbing stairs and lifting weight up to 50+ pounds. A keen eye for detail and diligence is imperative for this position.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily removal of trash from rooms and offices, aligning furniture and dusting surfaces as needed.
- Sweep and mop hard-surfaces floors, vacuum carpet and rugs.
- Clean and sanitized toilets, sinks, showers and restock paper and soap dispensers
- Clean mirrors and glass doors
- Timely respond to Alpharetta Christian Academy school and preschools needs (restrooms, classrooms, hallways, etc.) during school operating hours.
- Ensure external entry areas are clean and water plant containers as needed.
- Frequently move furniture and equipment for church and school classes, meetings, and events.
- Perform general maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, repairing door handles, minor leaks, etc).
- Report major damages and repairs.
- Follow procedures and respond appropriately to build emergency alarms (training will be provided).
- Ensure facility is secure by locking doors and closing windows.
- Additional tasks as assigned to maintain the professional appearance of facility.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience custodian, janitor or similar responsibility.
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
- Knowledge of safe disposal of cleaning liquids and other hazardous components.
- Attention to detail and reliable.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50+ pounds.
- High school diploma preferred but not required.
- Full-time with occasional events on Saturday or Sunday.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
