Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our accounting team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing and reviewing financial statements and bank reconciliations while ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Duties
- Review and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger entries and trial balance to ensure accuracy and compliance with DOL, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and Taft-Hartley Act.
- Perform Bank Reconciliations.
- Accrue Account Payables operating expenses.
- Research discrepancies in Employer contributions and variances.
- Conduct detailed account analysis and perform month-end closing activities including review of account reconciliation and ledger maintenance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities through Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management.
- Handle confidential information with integrity while ensuring data entry accuracy across multiple accounting systems.
- Assist with internal controls related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and participate in audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Perform technical accounting tasks including journal entries for complex transactions and ensuring adherence to GAAP and Taft-Hartley Act.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and streamline reporting workflows.
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with strong knowledge of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis.
- Proficiency in financial software including Creative Solutions, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel—for data analysis and spreadsheet management.
- Familiarity with GAAP and Taft-Hartley standards.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry and reconciliation tasks.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to perform technical accounting functions such as journal entries and account reconciliation efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and supporting audit processes.

Pay: $64,558.78 - $77,748.20 per year
