The General Mental Health Counselor is responsible for providing individual counseling services to clients experiencing a range of mental health challenges. This role involves assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, facilitating therapeutic sessions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. The counselor will use evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support clients in developing coping strategies, improving emotional well-being, and achieving personal growth. The Court Diversion Psychoeducational Facilitator is responsible for developing and leading structured educational and therapeutic group sessions for individuals involved in the criminal justice system. This role focuses on reducing recidivism by providing participants with the skills and knowledge needed to make positive life changes. The facilitator works closely with court systems, probation officers, and community organizations to deliver evidence-based psychoeducational programming on topics such as substance use, anger management, decision-making, and coping strategies. The Veteran Provider provides behavioral health services to justice-involved veterans participating in the Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) program. This role focuses on assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of evidence-based interventions to support veterans in achieving recovery, behavioral change, and program compliance. The therapist serves as part of a multidisciplinary team that collaborates closely with court staff, probation, case managers, and the VA or other community providers.
Key Responsibilities: Individual Counseling:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify mental health concerns and treatment needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on client goals.
- Provide evidence-based therapy for individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and other mental health concerns.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Group Facilitation:
- Develop and lead structured group therapy sessions tailored to client needs, such as psychoeducation, coping skills training, stress management, and relapse prevention.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for clients to share experiences and build peer support.
- Monitor group dynamics and provide interventions as needed to maintain a productive therapeutic space.
· Evaluate the effectiveness of group sessions and adjust content as necessary.
Minimal Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field required.
- Licensure: LAC (Licensed Associate Counselor); LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor); LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker); LAAC (Licensed Associate Addiction Counselor); LIAC (Licensed Independent Addiction Counselor) preferred but not required.
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in individual and/or group therapy settings preferred.
- Experience working with justice-involved populations, veterans, or in court-based treatment settings (preferred)
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, substance use treatment, and military culture
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of various therapeutic modalities, such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage group dynamics and address conflicts effectively.
- Proficiency in maintaining clinical documentation and confidentiality standards.

Other: If prior history of chemical dependency, must be in recovery for three consecutive years.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
