We are looking for a dependable and motivated Field Installer Technician to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who recently graduated from a trade school, is currently enrolled in a technical college program, or has hands-on experience in low voltage, electrical, telecommunications, or IT field work.
Position Overview
The Field Installer Technician will assist with commercial low-voltage installations, structured cabling projects, and occasional onsite IT support dispatches for managed service clients. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning new skills, working at different job sites, and being part of a growing company.
The position will begin as part-time, approximately 20 to 25 hours per week, with the potential to grow into a full-time role as workload increases. For the right candidate who proves reliable, professional, and capable, Broadwire may provide a company van once the volume of work supports it.
Key Responsibilities
The Field Installer Technician will be responsible for assisting with or performing the following:
- Pulling and routing Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, coax, and other low-voltage cabling
- Terminating data cabling on patch panels, keystone jacks, biscuit jacks, and related hardware
- Labeling cables, faceplates, patch panels, and equipment according to project standards
- Testing cable runs using basic cable testers and documenting results
- Installing cable supports such as J-hooks, cable management, ladder rack components, and related materials
- Assisting with MDF, IDF, network closet, and rack buildouts
- Performing basic wire management and cleanup of network areas
- Supporting camera, access control, and physical security cabling installations
- Assisting with device mounting, pathway preparation, and rough-in cabling
- Performing occasional onsite IT dispatches for managed service clients
- Troubleshooting basic network connectivity issues under direction from senior staff or remote support teams
- Communicating clearly with project managers, customers, technicians, and internal team members
- Taking job site photos and documenting completed work
- Maintaining a professional appearance and attitude while on customer sites
Preferred Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have some familiarity with one or more of the following:
- Low-voltage cabling
- Electrical or telecom trade work
- Data cable pulling and termination
- Coax cabling
- Network closets, patch panels, switches, routers, and wireless access points
- Access control cabling
- Security camera cabling and mounting
- Basic IT troubleshooting
- Commercial job site safety and professionalism
Experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person who is reliable, coachable, and motivated to learn.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- OSHA 10 certification
- Low-voltage, electrical, or telecom training
- Experience terminating Cat6 or coax cabling
- Familiarity with Fluke or basic cable testing equipment
- Experience with access control, cameras, or alarm cabling
- Basic networking knowledge
- Prior commercial job site experience
Schedule
This position will start as a part-time role, approximately 20 to 25 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on project workload, service dispatch needs, and customer scheduling requirements.
There is strong potential for this role to grow into a full-time position within the company as workload and performance align.

Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience, skill level, and reliability.
