Duties
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety through vigilant child supervision and adherence to childcare protocols
- Facilitate a variety of youth programs including arts, sports, outdoor activities, and educational games to promote childhood development and engagement
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive environment
- Lead group activities such as youth group events, camp-style outdoor work experiences, or theater-based programs to foster teamwork and creativity
- Implement first aid procedures when necessary, including CPR and AED operation, following established protocols to ensure children's well-being
- Collaborate with team members to plan age-appropriate curriculum that supports early childhood education and special education needs when applicable
- Maintain detailed records of attendance, incident reports, and activity logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and program requirements
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp programs, babysitting, or youth groups is highly desirable
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies for young children
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols required; ongoing training preferred
- Strong outdoor work experience or comfort working outside in various weather conditions
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to lead team activities and work collaboratively with colleagues
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage children positively while maintaining safety standards
- Experience facilitating youth programs such as sports coaching, theater activities, or tutoring is a plus
