A Lead Teacher is passionate about enriching the minds of young children and perceptive to their needs and emotions.
Requirements:
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A Lead Teacher is responsible for:
- Maintaining a safe and constructive learning environment
- Creating and implementing developmentally-appropriate lesson plans
- Assessing children’s needs and development
- Using positive classroom behavior management
- Following Michigan Child Care Licensing Regulations
- Supervising teacher assistants and volunteers In the classroom
- Having open, positive communication with the director, staff, families and the community
