Company Description:
K&D Drywall & Painting is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Painting & Drywall Repair Technician to join our growing team.
This position is a combination of apartment painting and drywall repair work for apartment communities throughout Western New York. When repair work orders are available, you'll complete drywall repairs, texture matching, and ceiling repairs in occupied and vacant apartments. Between repair work, you'll assist with painting apartment turnovers to help prepare units for new residents.
We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates well, and enjoys working independently while delivering high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Paint vacant apartment units efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Complete drywall repairs of all sizes
- Repair water-damaged ceilings and walls
- Match existing wall textures and popcorn ceilings
- Repair drywall around windows, doors, bathrooms, kitchens, and living spaces
- Sand, finish, prime, and prepare repairs for paint
- Take before and after photos for all repair work orders
- Document completed work and provide updates after every visit
- Coordinate and manage repairs that require multiple visits
- Communicate professionally with property managers, maintenance staff, and residents
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Maintain company tools and equipment
- Identify additional maintenance issues and report them to management
Qualifications
- Experience painting residential or apartment interiors
- Experience repairing and finishing drywall
- Ability to match textures, including popcorn ceilings
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and dependable
- Comfortable working independently
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders
- Minimum 2 years of professional painting experience required
- Experience with drywall repair and finishing required
- Experience hanging drywall is a plus
- Must have reliable transportation, as jobs are located throughout the Buffalo area and surrounding suburbs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
