Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hospital warehouse, including receiving, shipping, inventory maintenance, and supply distribution. This role ensures that all departments have the necessary supplies and equipment to provide safe, efficient patient care while maintaining accurate inventory levels and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Warehouse Operations
-
Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, stocking, distribution and returns
-
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of supplies to hospital departments
-
Manage organization and cleanliness of warehouse and storage areas
-
Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with Procurement
-
Maintain appropriate inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking
-
Perform and oversee cycle counts and annual physical inventory
-
Monitor inventory systems for accuracy and discrepancies
-
Ensure proper storage of supplies, including sterile and temperature-sensitive items
-
Manage service and delivery workflows
-
Monitor supply usage and assist with budget management
-
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory and distribution
-
Prepare reports on inventory, usage, and operational efficiency
Staff Supervision & Leadership
-
Supervise warehouse staff, including scheduling and daily task assignments
-
Hire, train, and evaluate employee performance
-
Promote a safe, efficient, and team-oriented work environment
-
Address performance issues and provide coaching as needed
Compliance & Safety
-
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
-
Maintain proper handling and storage procedures for medical supplies
-
Ensure workplace safety practices are followed, including use of equipment
-
Participate in audits and inspections as needed
Coordination & Communication
-
Collaborate with nursing units and departments to anticipate supply needs
-
Work with Procurement to resolve receiving discrepancies and obtain return authorizations
-
Communicate supply shortages, delays, or substitutions to leadership
-
Support hospital initiatives and operational goals
Completes special projects and performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to ensuring the agency is adequately staffed during and immediately following natural and/or manmade disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and/or acts of terrorism. Assists other employees in the work unit in accomplishing assignments as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (business, logistics, or related field)

3–5 years of warehouse or supply chain experience, preferably in healthcare

Previous supervisory or management experience required
-
Knowledge of inventory management systems and basic computer skills
-
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds
-
Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:

Must be able to pass a background check prior to employment.
