Compensation: $22.86 – $26.51Position open until filled.To apply, click here.To read the full job description, click here.BRIEF DESCRIPTIONThis is a mid-level supervisory position and duties include leading assigned street and drainage personnel, working with the Street and Drainage Foreman to determine work schedules, keeping records and reporting monthly of department activities, and operating machinery in maintenance tasks. Subject to after hour call outs for emergency situations.NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESKnowledge in maintenance of streets, alleys, and drainage systems (creek, storm sewers and culverts) pavement maintenance, and construction repairKnowledge of the safe operation of equipment used and or the provisions of the Texas Motor Vehicle code pertaining to the operation of vehicles and equipmentAbility to supervise others through effective working relationshipsSufficient skills to operate and train others to operate equipment effectively and safelyAbility to work under adverse weather conditionsAbility to communicate well, both verbally and in writingAbility to lead a group of employees in the execution of the assigned tasksEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school graduate or equivalent and at least three (3) years in street and drainage and at least one (1) year in a supervisory position is desirable;Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIREDA Valid Class A CDL Texas driver license with a Tank Endorsement, and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving recordENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND SAFETY HAZARDSPrimarily in an outdoor environment with the ability to operate indoors when needed. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during summer and winter months. Some exposure to dust, fumes, and loud noises that are routinely encountered in street,alley, and drainage maintenance operations.TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USEDUses various types of heavy and light equipment such as; track excavator, track loader, track type tractors, rubber tire loader, backhoe loader, steel wheel and pneumatic rollers, skid steer, dump trucks, and haul trucks for transporting equipment.Air tools, chain saw, tree trimming tools, and weed eater, backhoe, agricultural-type tractor with 15’ flex-wing mower and push mower, gator-type four-wheel vehicle with spray rig/applicator, zero-radius riding mower.
