American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requequiring at least 2 years of OR experience and Epic proficiency.

>Operating Room unit within a community hospital setting
-
Day shift schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM (5x8 hours)

On-call responsibilities required
-
Wide variety of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, general surgery, pediatric surgery, urology, ENT, and oral surgery
-
Robotic surgery experience utilized, including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System for colorectal, GI, gynecologic, and urologic procedures
-
Epic charting system experience required
-
Active RN license (TN or Compact) required and in-hand at time of consideration
-
AHA BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required

Epic charting system experience required
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Community hospital experience preferred
-
Experience with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Steris equipment
-
Skilled in administration of blood and blood products, cardiac monitoring, infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, and specimen handling/labeling
-
Proficient in Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures and urinary bladder catheterization
-
Emergency management skills including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia protocols
-
Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
-
Must complete drug testing within 12-14 calendar days prior to start, with willingness to repeat if needed
-
Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties including gynecologic, plastic, general, pediatric, urologic, and ENT procedures

Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties

Orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning (CBLs) modules, averaging 4-5 hours, completed during non-billable orientation

Must reside 100+ miles from the hospital's service area, as local candidates are not accepted
