POSITION SUMMARY
Apparent Inc. is looking for a Software Engineer that is interested in working for a cutting-edge renewable energy company. In this role you will work with a dedicated team who are working on solutions to energy storage and solar energy integration.
In this role you will be able to use your experience as a software developer to solve real work problems and will utilize your knowledge of best software practices.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Produce human and machine-readable code.- 3-5 years of experience developing and implementing software applications
- Works with energy control algorithms to control energy production and energy storage
- Integrate external libraries and third-party hardware into our current code base
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
- Facilitate root cause analysis of system issues
- Recommend and execute improvements
- Work with developers to design algorithms and flowcharts
- Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience or interest in solar power and energy storage systems
- High level of knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Experience working with control systems a plus but not required
- Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar role
- Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
- Understand communications protocols such as TCP/IP, Modbus
- Experience using networking monitoring tools such as Wireshark
- Knowledge of coding languages (Python, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with source code repositories such as Git
- Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM)
- Ability to learn new languages and technologies
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
