EKA Associates, P.A. is an established and growing civil engineering, planning, and land surveying firm serving both public and private clients throughout New Jersey. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and technically strong Principal Civil Engineer to help lead our engineering department and play a key role in the continued growth of our company.
This is an opportunity for an accomplished engineer who wants more than just another project management position. The successful candidate will have the ability to shape projects, mentor staff, influence company direction, and grow into a senior leadership role within the organization.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and technical execution of residential, commercial, and mixed-use land development projects throughout New Jersey.
- Prepare and oversee site plans, grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater management designs.
- Review and approve engineering plans, reports, and permit applications.
- Coordinate directly with clients, municipalities, boards, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
- Conduct and oversee stormwater analysis and design utilizing industry-standard software.
- Coordinate with survey, planning, and environmental professionals to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Attend client meetings, public hearings, and agency meetings as needed.
- Assist with strategic planning, business development, and expansion of engineering services.
What We're Looking For
- Active New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum 8 years of civil engineering and land development experience.
- Strong background in:
- Site design
- Stormwater management
- Utility design
- NJDEP permitting
- Municipal and county approval processes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater modeling software.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage projects independently and mentor junior staff.
- Experience attending planning board and zoning board meetings is preferred.
