Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and observe patients for changes in condition, reporting any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Support residents with medication reminders and administration following proper protocols and HIPAA guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light cleaning duties to promote hygiene and comfort
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs safely to assist with transfers and mobility
- Document care activities accurately in care plans, including vital signs, patient observations, and progress notes
Qualifications
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health care preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs effectively
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional training in dementia or Alzheimer's care is a plus
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or memory care needs highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and compassionate attitude dedicated to providing exceptional patient-centered care
