Overview: Provides in-depth, trauma-responsive, and supportive case management and direct services to foster parents and youth in the care. Perform intakes and select out-of-home and adoptive placements. Complete child and family assessments for foster and adoptive placement.
Schedule: Monday - Friday daytime hours based on caseload needs. On call every 6th weekend.
Job Duties:
- Helps families and children to respond constructively to placement and assist in adjustment leading to and following placement. Provides a safe and therapeutic environment. Create safety plans if necessary.
- Screen and assess children for victimization utilizing dialogue with child, conducting body report and reviewing case information from law enforcement or DCF. Assist in helping victims and foster homes understand the dynamics of victimization.
- Advocates for both foster home and youth with other agencies, court, etc. for youth-centered services and needs.
- Visit all foster homes homes in appropriate time frames and submit appropriate paperwork as required by DCF licensing, regulations, and standards for both the foster home and youth.
- Attends court, case plans, DCF visits, or other needed appointments with foster home or youth.
Experience and Education:
- Required: 1-2 years of related experience.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Preferred: A current license from the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Board (KSRB) in one of the following professional categories:
Psychologist
Social Worker
Professional Counselor
Marriage and Family Therapist
