We’re growing and looking for a driven, hands-on Assistant Manager to help us continue delivering an amazing guest experience every single day.
As Assistant Manager, you’ll support the General Manager in leading daily restaurant operations, maintaining food quality and freshness standards, coaching team members in real time, and ensuring smooth and efficient rush periods. This role is fast-paced, high-volume, and requires someone who leads by example, communicates clearly, and can motivate a team on shift. You’ll help create the consistency and discipline that makes Michy’s famous across Houston and DFW.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Execution
- Ensure food quality/spec consistency on line, expo, drive thru, and 3rd party apps
- Monitor prep levels, waste, and station readiness
- Keep kitchen and front of house running at standard pace during rushes
- Solve problems on shift (equipment issues, guest complaints, substitutions)
Team Leadership
- Train new hires (especially on Michy’s style plating, egg cook, frying station, portion control)
- Coach performance during shift, correct standards in real time
- Model positive professional behavior, bilingual communication preferred (English/Spanish)
Guest Experience
- Handle guest issues before they escalate
- Maintain dining area cleanliness / ambiance
- Manage wait times expectations and flow during peak traffic
Financial Discipline
- Manage labor in real time to target % (cut, add, break timing)
- Audit waste, portion control, comps/voids
- Assist in cash handling, safe counts, closing paperwork
Admin / Back of House
- Inventory counts/checks
- Temperature logs
- Ensuring sanitation compliance
- Receiving truck deliveries
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 year of experience in a restaurant leadership role (Shift Lead, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, etc.)
- Ability to lead a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to coach in real time
- Comfortable enforcing food quality, cleanliness, and safety standards
- Able to open and/or close the restaurant as needed
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Must be available to work weekends and peak rush periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Food Manager Certification

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
