Senior Helpers of New Haven Coast is seeking reliable and compassionate caregivers to help older adults live safely and independently in their own homes. Whether you have professional caregiving experience or have supported a family member, we are interested in meeting people who bring patience, integrity, and a genuine desire to serve others.

How You Will Support Clients
Depending on the client’s individual care plan, responsibilities may include:
- Offering companionship and social engagement
- Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
- Helping with walking, mobility, positioning, and safe transfers
- Preparing meals and providing assistance with eating
- Providing medication reminders
- Completing light housekeeping, laundry, and linen changes
- Assisting with errands and authorized transportation
- Providing compassionate support to clients with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia
- Monitoring for changes in a client’s condition, behavior, or needs
- Reporting concerns promptly to the appropriate office team member
- Documenting services accurately and on time
- Following all care plan instructions, safety practices, and company procedures
Qualifications
- Compassionate, dependable, patient, and respectful
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow written care plans and complete required documentation
- Willingness to complete required training and skills assessments
- Reliable transportation to and from assigned clients
- Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance when driving is required
- Previous experience in home care, assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or family caregiving is preferred but not required for every assignment
- CNA, HHA, PCA, or related training is a plus
Physical Requirements
Caregivers must be able to perform the essential functions of their assigned role, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, completing light household tasks, and safely assisting clients with mobility and transfers.
