JOIN OUR TEAM! We invite you to apply to the Maintenance I position based in the Fresno area (Fresno, Clovis, Madera).
OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of multiple storage facilities and company properties. This position supports daily operations through property cleaning and upkeep, landscape irrigation maintenance and repairs, and general property repairs. The technician must be capable of working independently and maintaining safe and professional work practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Remove trash, debris, and abandoned items from facility grounds, landscape, and drainage areas, including furniture, mattresses, tree branches, bottles, paper, general garbage, and leaves and tree droppings; break down oversized items for proper disposal.

Maintain facility cleanliness and appearance: clean fire breaks, remove webs, remove stains from concrete, treat and remove weeds, algae, and moss, apply rodenticides, and cover or remove graffiti.

Clean and prepare storage units for rental, including application of rodenticides and insecticides, sweeping, removal of webs, light bulb replacement, floor stain removal, and removal of leftover hangers, nails, and other items.

Perform building and structural repairs: replace damaged storage unit doors and rubber door stripping; repair damaged roofing using silicone products, hand tools, and adhesive tapes.

Maintain irrigation systems: repair or replace valves, solenoids, diaphragms, irrigation wiring, and mainline and drip line systems; perform careful excavation to avoid damage to buried lines and utilities, which may include removal and cutting of shrubs and tree roots.

Maintain landscaping: trim bushes and trees to maintain safety, visibility, and property appearance; repair and replace sprinklers and their components to ensure proper landscape coverage; install drip irrigation systems with appropriate emitters for plant and tree requirements.

Maintain company golf carts, including tire replacement, cleaning, and checking batteries and balancing water.

Keep the shop clean and orderly; maintain safety in the shop, including tools and pesticides; requisition shop supplies.

Travel to company facilities and properties as assigned.

Comply with all company policies and procedures, safety requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Perform any other related duties as designated by the supervisor or management.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver's license (Class C) and ability to travel between facilities.

Knowledge of general maintenance, plumbing, and irrigation, and how to safely perform maintenance work.

Good working knowledge of basic irrigation systems.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment (drills, drivers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.).

Ability to work safely around water systems, electrical systems, and machinery.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform heavy lifting as needed.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Groundskeeping experience.

Prior maintenance experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position involves both indoor and outdoor work environments, with exposure to weather conditions, landscaping material, water systems, electrical systems, machinery, tools, and general maintenance hazards. Work is typically performed outdoors and in all weather conditions. Equipment used includes hand and power tools (drills, drivers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.), which are issued as standard for this position, as well as keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of the workday.
COMPENSATION AND CLASSIFICATION
This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position eligible for overtime in accordance with California law. Meal and rest periods are provided in accordance with California law. Benefit eligibility is determined by hours worked and company policy.
