Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to join our facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our premises. Your efforts will ensure that all areas are properly sanitized, well-maintained, and compliant with safety standards. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Handle chemical agents safely by following established chemical handling safety procedures and protocols
- Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to maintain high-quality floor care and buffing standards
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to safe lifting practices during the movement of furniture, supplies, or equipment
- Maintain sanitation standards by regularly disinfecting surfaces, trash removal, and restocking supplies as needed
- Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, and general upkeep to support overall building functionality
- Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and colleagues
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning and janitorial services within commercial or residential settings
- Strong knowledge of custodial procedures, including floor care, sanitation, and the use of cleaning equipment
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while following safety protocol adherence guidelines
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and long periods of standing or walking
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as basic repairs or painting is a plus
- Commitment to maintaining a clean environment through attention to detail and consistent work ethic
