Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using schematics, electrical blueprints, and engineering troubleshooting techniques to restore equipment functionality efficiently.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics utilizing tools such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and low/high voltage testers to identify faults in electrical systems.
- Repair and replace components on industrial machinery, including motors, drives, sensors, switches, and control panels.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule future tasks.
- Operate various tools and equipment such as welders (including welding), scissor lifts, and precision measuring instruments to perform repairs safely and accurately.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime by providing quick response troubleshooting for equipment failures or malfunctions.
- Read electrical schematics and blueprints to execute complex repairs on electrical systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to high voltage, electrical maintenance, HVAC/R systems, and other industrial processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing equipment performance data and recommending upgrades or process enhancements.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a manufacturing facility environment with a strong focus on industrial maintenance practices.
- Hands-on knowledge of HVAC/R systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and maintenance tracking.
- Skilled in reading schematics, electrical blueprints, and engineering diagrams for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience with electrical diagnostics using tools such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters in low voltage and high voltage settings.
- Demonstrated ability to perform welding (including welding) safely following established procedures.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrician responsibilities including electrical systems repair, electrical blueprint reading, and troubleshooting of electrical components.
- Ability to operate scissor lifts safely while performing maintenance tasks at elevated heights.
- Excellent customer service skills when collaborating with internal teams or external vendors for equipment repairs or technical support.
- Analytical thinking skills necessary for diagnosing complex machinery issues quickly and accurately.
