Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes. This an OTR(over the road) and Its a 1099 job pays weekly monday through saturday. In this vital role, you will operate a range of commercial 26ft box trucks, ensuring timely delivery of goods while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Your expertise in logistics cargo handling, route driving, and hazardous materials regulations will be essential to maintaining our reputation for reliability and excellence. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including manual transmission on over-the-road (OTR) routes.
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency.
- Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following all hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or unforeseen delays.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving and pallet jack with a focus on freight transportation across various routes.
- Prior delivery driver experience involving load & unload operations and logistics cargo handling.
- Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), and hazardous materials regulations.
- Experience navigating using GPS systems for route planning and execution.
- Ability to handle manual transmission trucks confidently and perform manual handling tasks safely.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety standards in truck loading/unloading and driving operations involving dangerous goods or hazardous materials.
