Session Implementation & Direct Student Management
Site Directors lead Learning Club’s in-school and after-school programs, serving as the primary site contact and ensuring high-quality, structured, and engaging sessions for students living in Kansas City, Ks. Site Directors supervise a small staff team, support volunteer tutors, engage families, and manage the daily implementation of program expectations aligned with Learning Club’s mission and values.
Job Requirements:
- Fluency in English and Spanish preferred
- Experience working with school-age children preferred
- Experience supervising 2+ employees preferred
- Strong classroom-management, relationship-building, and communication skills
- Clear Learning Club background check
- Ability to work until approximately 6pm, 2–3 times per week during the school year
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds and walk short distances, including stairs
- Ability to drive a personal vehicle daily to Learning Club sites in Kansas City, KS
- Active and valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
Key Responsibilities:
1. Session Implenation & Direct Student Management
- Lead 4–5 weekly Learning Club sessions, including setup, sign-ins, announcements, tutoring, and dismissal
- Maintain a structured, positive, and safe learning environment
- Model and teach social-emotional skills using LC curriculum
- Track student academic, behavioral, and SEL progress
- Maintain full student enrollment and conduct recruitment as needed
- Conduct SEL surveys twice yearly
- Maintain accurate registration forms, attendance, and student records
- Implement Learning Club program expectations and culture consistently
2. Site Administration & Staff Team Leadership
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate a team of 2–3 site staff members
- Run regular team check-ins, support staff needs, and hold team accountable to LC expectations
- Conduct twice-yearly Site Reviews and implement improvement action steps
- Meet regularly with the Program Director to report updates and concerns
- Coordinate with school administrators, building managers, and community partners
- Ensure all Learning Club policies—including Child Protection Policy—are taught, monitored, and enforced
- Maintain session materials, site supply bins, and site documents
- Ensure each site is welcoming, clean, organized, and aligned with LC expectations
3. Family Engagement
- Build trusting relationships with families through home visits, notes, texts, calls, and site events
- Facilitate family surveys twice yearly
- Host annual celebrations or special events at sites
- Support families in accessing community resources when needs arise
4. Volunteer Supervision & Support
- Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator to maintain appropriate tutor attendance
- Supervise volunteers, providing feedback and support to build meaningful relationships with volunteer tutors
- Provide coaching and real-time support to help tutors build strong relationships with students
- Lead 15-minute tutor debriefs after each session
- Maintain accurate volunteer attendance records
- Uphold positive, professional communication norms with all volunteers
5. Program Support & Development
- Cover sessions for other staff when needed
- Participate in professional development opportunities
- Support community presentations as assigned
- Contribute feedback to program design, expansion, and refinement
- Support summer programming as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Position information:
- Full time; 35 hours per week; Hourly; non-exempt.
- Office at 3027 N. 54 St. in Kansas City, Kansas. Work is performed on-site in an office, schools, and community centers throughout KCK. No remote options are available.
Compensation:
- $24 - 26 an hour based on education and experience.
- $400 Monthly stipend in lieu of company-provided healthcare
- $40 monthly phone stipend if using personal phone for Learning Club correspondence
- Paid Time Off for all full- and part-time employees
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
