Starlight Behavioral Health is hiring a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Huntington, West Virginia to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their behavioral health needs.
This role is a strong fit for experienced DSPs, caregivers, CNAs, HHAs, PCAs, home health workers, and other direct care professionals looking to continue their work in a meaningful, person-centered setting. It is also a great opportunity for dependable people who want to transition into caregiving and receive training and support.
As a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will:

Provide daily, individualized care focused on client safety, health, and well-being

Assist with personal care, including hygiene, grooming, feeding, and mobility

Help with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and routine support
-
Follow each client’s Individualized Program Plan (IPP) and behavior support plan
-
Support clients in building independence, daily living skills, and social skills
-
Transport clients to appointments, shopping, and community outings
-
Complete daily documentation and incident reports accurately and on time
-
Respond to crisis situations and emergencies with professionalism and empathy
-
Support clients with communication needs, including adaptive communication tools when needed

Predictable set weekly schedule
- Paid training provided

Full-time schedule with 12-hour shifts

Consistent 3-day work week (we do not offer schedules less than 3 days per week at this time)

Ability to pass a WV Cares Federal Background Check

Ability to work scheduled 12-hour shifts
Experience in direct care, caregiving, home health, behavioral health, or related support roles is helpful, but not required. Training is provided.
