Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist (Grade II – Skilled) to join our Rock Hill team on 1st shift. This position is responsible for operating manual balancing equipment to inspect, balance, and adjust industrial rollers to meet precise customer specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience operating manual machinery, balancing rotating components, and working in a precision manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual balancing machines to inspect and balance industrial rollers.
- Measure vibration and identify imbalance to determine required adjustments.
- Apply balancing weights and make manual corrections to achieve required balance tolerances.
- Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and balancing requirements.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and quality.
- Safely operate overhead cranes and other material handling equipment to move rollers throughout production.
- Complete inspection documentation and production records using computer systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Requirements
- Experience operating manual manufacturing equipment (required).
- Experience using manual balancing machines or balancing rotating equipment (required).
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and make precision adjustments.
- Experience using precision measuring tools and interpreting specifications.
- Basic computer skills for production and inspection documentation.
- Experience operating overhead cranes preferred.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and production standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Pay: $22.50 - $26.50 per hour
