Assistant Teacher – Four-Year-Old Classroom
Kids' Korner Child Development Center is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our four-year-old classroom. Our program follows the Creative Curriculum, focusing on providing developmentally appropriate experiences that prepare children for kindergarten while supporting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. We are looking for a team-oriented individual who is passionate about working with preschoolers in a structured, play-based environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing Creative Curriculum activities that promote school readiness.
- Support children’s learning through intentional, play-based instruction in literacy, math, science, and social-emotional development.
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and organized classroom environment.
- Supervise and engage children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest time.
- Collaborate with staff and families to ensure a supportive and inclusive environment for all children.
- Follow all NC Division of Child Development and Early Education regulations.
Minimum Requirements (per NC Child Care Licensing Standards):
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of the NC Early Childhood Credential (EDU 119) plus 12 credit hours in Early Childhood Education.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Strong interest in early childhood education and child development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare program.
- Knowledge of Creative Curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
