Role Summary
We are currently looking for a seasoned Senior Quality Engineer to spearhead our quality efforts in a fast-paced production setting. You will be instrumental in guaranteeing that our output, internal workflows, and vendor partnerships align with both client needs and rigorous industry benchmarks.
In this capacity, you will spearhead initiatives to boost quality, assist with the introduction of new products, perform deep-dive root cause analyses, and collaborate across departments—including engineering and manufacturing—to elevate our operational standards. This role is ideal for a professional eager to take charge of quality management systems while fostering team growth and championing continuous improvement.
Primary Duties

Direct quality engineering tasks related to both new product introductions and current production workflows

Create and update essential quality records such as process maps, inspection guides, control plans, and standard operating procedures

Utilize formal problem-solving methodologies like 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone to resolve complex issues and improve product reliability

Analyze SPC data, defect patterns, and process capability to help the team reach higher performance benchmarks

Facilitate risk assessment sessions, PFMEA updates, and production readiness checks to ensure operational excellence

Coordinate APQP, PPAP, and initial article inspections to maintain high standards for product qualification

Address internal and external quality feedback by implementing robust corrective and preventive measures

Oversee the handling of non-conforming goods, including scrap reduction and rework management

Evaluate vendor performance through audits and metrics to foster stronger supplier quality outcomes

Drive Six Sigma and Lean initiatives to minimize waste and enhance overall production yields

Manage the validation and calibration of measurement tools, including precision devices and CMMs
-
Deliver detailed quality performance presentations and improvement strategies to leadership and clients

Assist with the execution of third-party, customer, and internal quality audits

Provide mentorship to quality staff and production team members regarding best practices and system compliance

Collaborate with supply chain, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure high-quality outcomes across the board
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or engineering

At least 6 years of professional experience in quality engineering within a production facility

Background in automotive, injection molding, or plastics manufacturing is highly valued

Expertise in quality management frameworks, including SPC, MSA, PFMEA, APQP, and continuous improvement techniques

Proficiency in reading technical specifications, GD&T, and engineering blueprints

Hands-on experience operating precision measurement tools and CMM hardware

Competence in using Microsoft Office software

Familiarity with statistical analysis tools like Minitab is a plus

Experience with CAD, PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, or other quality-related software is beneficial

Lean or Six Sigma professional certification is preferred

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) status is considered a strong asset

Operational Environment
This role requires a balance of time spent in the office and on the factory floor, ensuring constant engagement with production activities. You may occasionally need to travel to visit suppliers or clients. To ensure we meet our production goals and client commitments, you should be prepared for occasional weekend or overtime work.
