Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher with a focus on Emotional Behavior Disorders. This role is based onsite at a vibrant elementary school, where you’ll work collaboratively with staff and positively impact children’s academic journeys. The school offers an innovative curriculum with specialties in mathematics, science, and children's engineering. You'll be guiding elementary students through Project Lead the Way Launch, helping them discover engineering and computer programming concepts through hands-on experiences.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota Tier 3 or 4 Special Education Teaching Certification (must be attached with your application)
- Experience supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs, ideally in a center-based setting
- Strong skills in classroom management, collaboration, and differentiation
- Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Positive communication style with students, families, and staff
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students identified with emotional or behavioral disorders
- Develop and carry out IEPs tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service staff
- Engage students in interactive lessons integrating mathematics, science, and engineering concepts
- Foster a safe, supportive classroom environment that encourages growth and community
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
This position begins in early September 2026 and continues through early June 2027. You’ll work Monday through Friday for 37.5 hours per week in an engaged, collaborative school environment.
