Mechanical Design/Development Engineer I
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative and engaged group of Mechanical Design Engineers within the Vehicle Engineering Group. You will create and deliver engineering solutions correctly first time and implement testing programs to drive competitiveness and reliability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Generate 3D models, Assemblies and 2D drawings including defining and documenting manufacturing information
· Take technical ownership of a variety of projects on the car’s suspension, steering, brake and cooling systems.
· Conduct in house testing of components and systems to the highest standards prior to implementation
· Discuss with other engineers or race team personnel, to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical feedback.
· Close collaboration with internal and external manufacturing departments to ensure accurate and timely manufacturing can occur.
· Strong, but diverse, problem-solving skillset in both mechanical and electrical systems
· Be a role model for the mindsets and behaviors necessary to create an environment of trust, participation, and accountability
· Comfortable with a dynamic, fast paced, highly variable business.
· A good knowledge of Automotive Electrical systems would be an advantage.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Design or Automotive Engineering required
Experience: Recently graduated candidates will be considered
Computer Skills: Knowledge of Unigraphics NX CAD or related design software. Matlab, Pi, Motec, or similar data acquisition software. Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
