Overview
Joylark is looking for a part-time Dishwasher/Porter. This role is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, as well as assisting with prep. We're a fun group, enjoying the work, and creating a memorable experience for our guests.
Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment through efficient dishwashing and sanitizing procedures.
- Prepare ingredients and food items according to established recipes and standards, supporting chefs with basic food prep tasks.
- Responsible for the organization of all food items, equipment, and packaging materials.
- Follow strict food safety management protocols and sanitation guidelines to uphold health standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other culinary tools.
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and equipment.
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by providing timely assistance with food handling and prep activities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual/physical tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with operating kitchen equipment are advantageous.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently, while giving attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude with excellent teamwork skills to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
