Minnesota Fire & Security is hiring a Journeyman Electrician to support our growing high-voltage electrical division in the Twin Cities metro. This is a local-only position—no overnight travel, no out-of-state work, no hotels.
We’re a family-owned, fast-growing company expanding our electrical services alongside an established commercial customer base. We’re looking for a self-directed, positive, go-getter who takes pride in quality work and customer relationships.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be working on a variety of commercial electrical projects, including:
- Commercial and light industrial work
- Multifamily properties
- Service calls
- New construction and remodels
No two days are exactly the same. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and seeing jobs through from start to finish.
What We’re Looking For
- Minnesota Journeyman Electrician license (required)
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Journeyman
- Able to work independently and lead jobs in the field
- Strong customer communication skills
- Positive attitude and pride in your work
- Comfortable working at a steady pace and getting things done right
This job is not a good fit for someone who needs constant direction, dislikes variety, or struggles with customer interaction.
What We Offer
- Full-time, W-2 position
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Company service truck provided
- Overtime paid
- Additional pay for occasional after-hours work
(Rare — typically once a month or less, scheduled and shared)
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule
- 100% Twin Cities metro work
(Typically within ~30 minutes of Minneapolis or St. Paul)
You’ll report directly to the owner most days and be part of a tight-knit team that values trust, accountability, and doing right by customers.
Why Minnesota Fire & Security

- A shop that values independence, competence, and attitude over micromanagement
If you’re a solid journeyman who wants local work, autonomy, and room to grow, we’d like to talk.
